Linworth Animal Hospital

Linworth Animal Hospital is in business to provide compassionate health care for our clients' pets, always striving to provide a friendly professional atmosphere and maintaining open communications, so clients feel comfortable discussing all aspects and options available for their animals' care and treatment.

History
Linworth Animal Hospital was established in 1968 and has served Worthington and the surrounding areas for over 40 years. We have been members of the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) since 1978. This association ensures a high standard of quality in all practice areas.

The hospital, located at 2133 West Dublin-Granville Road in Worthington, has 4,100 sq.ft. The hospital is equipped to handle all medical situations dealing with cats and dogs. There are four examination rooms, a pharmacy, laboratory, large treatment area, prep area, surgery room, radiology, and a general and isolation ward.

In addition to the medical areas, there are two consultation rooms, two offices, a reception and book keeping area, an employee lounge as well as a staff library.

  • Allen L. Gutin, DVM, Hospital Director

    Allen L. Gutin, DVM, Hospital Director

    Dr. Allen L. Gutin received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the Ohio State University in 1971 after completing a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Muskinghum College in 1967. His initial veterinary experience was in the Washington D.C. area in a large multi-doctor companion animal practice, plus a small solo farm animal/horse practice. He returned to Columbus in 1974 and has since then continued his professional career at Linworth Animal Hospital.

    He is married to Jane, has three grown children, David, Daniel, and Sarah and one granddaughter, Sylvia.

    His pets include a Lhasa Apso named Petal.

  • Dawn Truesdale, DVM, Hospital Director

    Dawn Truesdale, DVM, Hospital Director

    Dr. Dawn Truesdale graduated from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in June of 2003. After graduating, she spent a year at Michigan Veterinary Specialist as an intern in emergency medicine. She began working at Linworth Animal Hospital in 1997 as a veterinary student, and joined the practice as a full time Veterinarian September of 2004.

    She is originally from St. Paris, Ohio, and now resides in Powell with her husband, Shawn, their daughter, Morgan, dog, Eli, and two cats, Benny and Tillie.

  • Kathy Sheridan, DVM

    Kathy Sheridan, DVM

    Dr. Kathy Sheridan is the most recent veterinarian to join the Linworth Animal Hospital family. She is a member of the AVMA and the OVMA. After graduating from The Ohio State University in 2005, Dr. Sheridan practiced medicine at a small animal hospital in Westerville.

     

    With the exception of a few years in Clintonville, Kathy is a lifelong Worthington resident and proud graduate of Thomas Worthington High School. She currently resides in Worthington with her husband, John, their sons, Owen and Whitaker, their labs, Charlie and Vince and their cat, Niu.

  • Teresa Linville, Head Registered Veterinary Technician/Hospital Administrator

    Teresa Linville, Head Registered Veterinary Technician/Hospital Administrator

    Originally from Bellefontaine, Ohio, Teresa is the daughter of veterinarian Tim Tillman.

     

    She graduated from Columbus Technical Institute (now known as Columbus State Community College) in 1985.  She has been employed by Linworth Animal Hospital since April 1986.  Teresa is a registered veterinary technician with the state of Ohio, and a member of the Ohio Association of Veterinary Technicians.  She is in charge of the technical staff at our hospital and the hospital administrator. Not only is she an excellent leader and technician, but she is also responsible for the bookkeeping and inventory at Linworth Animal Hospital. 

     

    Teresa resides in Dublin with her husband David, daughter Taylor, son Connor, dog, Diva. and two cats Cheese Nubbin and Tiger Woods.

  • Lisa West, Registered Veterinary Technician/Front Office Manager

    Lisa West, Registered Veterinary Technician/Front Office Manager

    Lisa joined the staff of Linworth Animal Hospital in March 1999.  She is a graduate of Columbus State Community College, having graduated summa cum laude with an Associate degree in Veterinary Technology.  She also obtained a Bachelorof Science in Agriculture, with a major in Animal Science from the Ohio State University in 1997.  She is a registered veterinary technician with the state of

    Ohio, as well as a National Board certified technician.  Lisa is also a member of the Ohio Association of Veterinary Technicians.  While a student, Lisa was employed by the O.S.U. College of Veterinary Medicine, in the large animal office.  She has been a wonderful addition to our team at Linworth Animal Hospital. 

     

    Lisa resides in Marion with her husband, Lonnie, children, Lauren, Nolen, Avery and Hank,  Jack Russell Terrier, Shy, and her 2 cats, Joey and Phoebe.

  • Joanna Schwartz, Registered Veterinary Technician

    Joanna Schwartz, Registered Veterinary Technician

    Joanna graduated from Columbus State Community College in 1997.  She is a registered veterinary technician with the state of Ohio.  She began working at Linworth Animal Hospital in the fall of 1995 with the responsibilities of evening and weekend care of our hospitalized animals. She has been a full-time registered veterinary technician with Linworth since June of 2000.   Joanna enjoys many outdoor activities, and traveling to warm places whenever possible. 

     

    Joanna lives in Columbus with her husband, Chris, their dogs, Bosco and Bruno, and their 2  cats, Lucy and Somersault.

  • Bridget Kabealo, Registered Veterinary Technician

    Bridget Kabealo, Registered Veterinary Technician

    Bridget is originally from Troy, MI and moved to Columbus in 2003 to attend Columbus State Community College. She graduated with an Associate degree in Veterinary Technology in March 2005. She is a registered veterinary technician with the state of Ohio and a member of the Ohio Association of Veterinary Technicians. Bridget joined the Linworth family in May 2005.

     

    Bridget lives in Columbus with her husband Dustin, daughter Maddie, dogs Lucy and Linus, cats Mia and Picabu and guinea pigs, Peppermint Patty and Marci.

    Beth Fagan, Registered Veterinary Technician

    Beth joined our team in February 2008. She graduated from Bel-Rea Institute of Animal Technology in Denver, Colorado, in March 2007, with an associate of applied science degree. She is a registered technician in the states of Ohio and Colorado, as well as a national board certified technician.

     

    Beth resides in Columbus with her husband, Patrick, daughter, Jordan, son, Conal, two dogs, Michaeleen  Flynn and Gouda, and cat Montana.

  • Hope Cortez, Registered Veterinary Technician

    Hope Cortez, Registered Veterinary Technician

     Hope graduated from Columbus State Community College with an associate’s degree in Veterinary Technology in June of 2008. She joined the Linworth family in August of 2008. She is a registered veterinary technician in the state of Ohio.

     

    Hope resides in New Albany with her husband Joe and their two cats- Smokey and Huckleberry Finn.

    Nicole Garcia, Registered Veterinary Technician

    Nicole attended the Vet Tech Institute at Bradford Schools and graduated with an Associate Degree in Veterinary Technology in December of 2010. She is a registered veterinary technician with the state of Ohio and a member of the Ohio Association of Veterinary Technicians. Nicole joined the Linworth family in January 2011.

     

    Nicole lives in New Albany with her husband, Miguel, Golden Retriever, Mandy, and Basenji/ Beagle mix, Jasper.
